Hazel McCallion

former Mayor, City of Mississauga
“(Allan) has what few politicians have today in my opinion, common sense…and when you have common sense you can solve a lot of problems quite easily.”

“Regional Council needs Allan Thompson” she said. “…Caledon needs to be represented by somebody that understands and analyzes and makes decisions based on the best information that he can gather in order to make the right decision. So I’m urging you to get out there and make sure that Allan is your Mayor for the next four years!”

Dr. Lance Secretan

Caledon resident acknowledged globally as one of our most insightful and original leadership teachers

“Today more than ever we need political leaders who are inspiring, authentic and demonstrate high levels of integrity. Based on my experience as an advisor and coach to leaders globally, I can tell you Allan brings this to Caledon.

He understands the complexities and interconnectedness of all levels of government today and has the diplomacy, experience and vision to provide the strong representation Caledon needs to continue building an inspiring community.”

Ronald E. Holman

Chair, Rural Ontario Municipal Association (ROMA) and Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) Rural Caucus

“Allan’s dedication to his municipality and to all municipalities in Ontario is exemplary. His knowledge of the challenges facing his home municipality–and all municipalities in Ontario–and his concern for his residents is a model all politicians should strive for.

Richard Paterak

Former Regional Councillor Ward 1
Town of Caledon.
Served 11 years with Allan.

Allan is the real deal, a lifelong resident of Caledon who has demonstrated his work ethic and his desire to make Caledon and the Region better.

Allan’s ability to work with members of council, residents and staff are a clear indication of the qualities Allan brings to the job.  I am impressed by Allan’s ability to network with Queens Park and get Caledon issues the attention they deserve.

I have no hesitation in endorsing Allan for a second term as Mayor of Caledon.”

For the general public the pace of movement in government feels very slow and frustrating, making it very easy for critics to sow discontent.

The truth, however, is that there is an art to getting things done and it takes experience, knowledge and years of building respectful relationships with stakeholders at all levels to “move the mountain”.

Allan is a recognized leader among leaders and he has the respect of his peers–he is truly “heard” when he speaks on Caledon’s behalf. I really feel that the best way for Caledon to retain and build on this hard-won currency is to re-elect Allan Thompson.

Allan Thompson, as Mayor, has been a tireless worker for the people of the Town of Caledon. He remains approachable and has time for issues, big and small.

Allan has always recognized the importance of the needs of each of the Wards served by his Councillors and when asked to review an issue he makes sure to include the appropriate staff members to merge discussion with facts.

Allan’s door is open to the public and he is quick to recognize the value of all community members as volunteers and workers but also as contributors to decision making in the Town. During my term of office I appreciate his dedication to the needs of Ward 1 and his willingness to listen and assist where possible. Allan epitomizes community spirit.

Doug Beffort, Area Councillor, Ward 1, The Town of Caledon

“I have been very pleased with the leadership that Allan Thompson has provided to the Town of Caledon. His family roots in the community run deep. I often see him at public and community events where he consistently shows a passion and commitment for doing what is best for Caledon. He cares. He listens. He has always responded to my requests for help or assistance with interest, support and a common sense approach.

In addition to his knowledge of process and community, he now has the leadership experience to take us in to the future. As Mayor, I think he will continue to work hard to do the best job that he can for the residents and businesses of our green and beautiful Town of Caledon.”

Julie Pomeroy, Caledon resident

Rob Mezzapelli

Ward 5 Councillor, Town of Caledon. Served 8 years with Allan.

“Having worked on Council with Allan over the last 8 years I know Allan has the best interests of Bolton and Caledon at heart. Although we have not always agreed on every issue, Allan has always welcomed my opinions and has always supported and assisted me. As Mayor, he has proven himself to me to be a person who wishes to work collaboratively and constructively in serving our community.

“I have lived and run my business in Caledon for over 30 years. I have known Allan for almost as long. And as a business owner, I am constantly hiring people and companies to provide services.

Everyone can talk the talk, but so few walk the walk as well. But with Allan, I can honestly say that on every single issue I have ever inquired about, he either had the answer immediately or got back to me in short order with a resolve to my issues…and I am just one person.

So I can only imagine how busy Allan is. And yes, that is expected from people in politics…but I honestly believe Allan stands out mostly because he has passion for what he does in a municipality he so loves.”

Brian Perras
“We would like to share our story of how Allan Thompson helped us through a challenging day. The ice storm on April 14 and 15 of this year caused the collapse of our dairy barn roof.

As the neighbourhood came to help, Allan arrived with his cell phone in hand and a network of people to call. He helped to coordinate the evacuation of over 100 dairy cows during the continuing ice storm.

His leadership and efforts were much appreciated.”

“As Mayor Allan became involved at many levels to successfully listen to and represent the community to ensure that Caledon’s growth will be prosperous but most importantly reflect the diverse needs of the community. Allan is the right person to continue the leadership needed in these changing times.”

Helen Mason

“I’ve known Allan since before his years as Area Councillor for Ward 2.

He has consistently worked his way up the ladder through honesty, integrity and a profound love for his community.

Allan, undoubtedly is the right choice for a second term as Mayor of Caledon.

Derrik Libawski B.A., M.V.A.

“I live, develop, play, and contribute to our wonderful community here in Caledon. For over two decades I have had the absolute pleasure of watching it grow. My kids attended school, played hockey for the Hawks (which for many years I was on the bench assisting the growth of many talented kids), they played Rugby and Football for the Mayfield Mavericks, and developed many comraderies and friendships along the way, many of which they continue to nourish to this day. My wife and I have had the opportunity to become part of the Caledon family not only because we are small business owners, but through the kid’s activities. Many of these people have become intimate, close friends. I count Allan his wife Anne and their kids as part of this great family I call Caledon.

Our kids roughed it up on the Rugby pitches, then laughed away their tribulations at get togethers and bonfires. Yes, we became familiar with the Thompsons, and I can tell you wholeheartedly Allan has his finger on the pulse of our great community. Being the President of a corporation, Executive Director of two others and CEO of a third, I can tell you I know a little about small business. In all my endeavors personally, with my partners and colleagues, through all the challenges we have faced, Mr. Allan Thompson and his staff have been supportive and attentive.

His vision is outstanding, his concern for us un-wavering, and his genuine care for those around him cannot possibly be contradicted. My family, colleagues and I all agree he has the best interests of this community beating in the center of his chest. I congratulate him on his stint as Councillor, and the magnificent vision he has tried to implement as Mayor. I look forward to working with him and his staff for his next term as Mayor.

“I personally endorse Allan Thompson for Mayor of Caledon. During my 30 plus years living in the community I have experienced many dealings with the Town. Although at times difficult, Allan was always there for support through the system to make the process flow smoothly.

Allan understands the needs for the community and has proven a great help to me and my family. As a working businessman myself I recognize dealing with the public can be difficult at times. I feel Allan has mastered this quality and always has a ear to lend. He has always been a strong advocate of leadership and making Caledon a most desirable place to live.

Over the years I have seen Caledon grow and prosper and Allan has been a large part of that growth. To continue the future success in Caledon I would strongly recommend Allan Thompson for Mayor of Caledon.”

Tav Schembri – Remax and Caledon resident

“I, Shane Baghai, have been actively working in the Town of Caledon for the past ten years and our companies own several Farms and Residences in this fair Town.

Since the election of Mayor Thompson, we have witnessed improvements in many different areas in Town and most importantly the exposure that our good Mayor has created for the beautiful Town of Caledon.

Our real estate agents who work on our new luxury homes on the Escarpment Sideroad have mentioned that they see more people from different areas of the GTA looking for homes in Caledon and the inquiries have increased significantly.

It is known to all how sensitive we all are about the value of this great Town, the preservation of nature, and at the same time, appropriate developments where activities belong, and without impacting the greenest Town in Ontario.

We have all grown to respect all of the above and, furthermore, the delicate nature of the farming community who have been protected and supported by Mayor Thompson since the inception of his election.

I have personally taken time to write this note as I have been approached by many of our neighbours, farmers, staff members and people who love Caledon to endorse Mayor Thompson for re-election.

We encourage Mayor Thompson to continue his valuable services to the Town of Caledon, and all of its people.

Our highest hopes for his upcoming election.
